Leaders Go First

We are in the middle of a project called ACCELERATE that will position Lifepoint in the best place possible to walk through whatever door God opens for future expansion. Yesterday morning I had the privilege of sharing how our leaders had set the pace for this project. Leaders go first in order to create a passage way for others to walk through. Our leaders created a huge passage way and I couldn't have been more proud. Lifepoint remember - God gives an instruction to obey before His power is displayed!

THAT WAS GREAT!

Yes, I am alive and no I didn't take a three month vacation, although that would be fun. I have taken a break from blogging honestly because it became a burden and I didn't enjoy it. Now I'm ready to jump back in and share some of the amazing things God has been doing in my life and the life of Lifepoint.

VACATION TIME

It's vacation time with the family. Looking forward to relaxing, eating, and introducing Owen to the beach for the first time. Have a great week!

SOWING THE HARVEST YOU WANT

There is a principle that God is teaching me at the moment, here it is. I must sow the seed for the harvest I want. If I wanted to grow corn I would sow corn seed, because I need to sow for what I want to harvest.

This principle for hit me when I began teaching Owen, my son, to memorize scripture. I decided to start with John 3:16 because I wanted to reap a harvest of salvation in his life so I began to sow the Word of God into his life.

Today I saw this principle fleshed out again as I spent time with workers here in Turkey. I had the privilege of participating in their prayer time, which they set aside three hours for, yes you read that correctly, three hours. They were sowing what they wanted to harvest. They want to harvest the transformation of this country and are willing to spend the time sowing in prayer what they want to harvest in their ministry.

Another amazing day, each day God continues to challenge and convict me to increase my commitment to support the work. 

Please continue to pray for our team as we conclude the conference tomorrow and visit the city that Lifepoint supports on a monthly basis.

BLOWN AWAY

I have the most amazing, honoring, thoughtful team and church family on the planet!! Thank you so much for the birthday video and birthday wishes this weekend. It made my day to see that video on Monday after being so far away from the people I love on Sunday!!

LIV'IN ON THE EDGE

It's Tuesday evening in Turkey and about 3:30 back in the states. I just finished talking with Tammie on video chat and got to see little O and my baby girl!! Thank the Lord for technology. Today was a busy, long, exhausting, challenging, amazing, and convicting day - no wonder I'm so tired!! Here are some highlights!

* Spent the morning session (9 am - 12:30 pm) working with the children of some of the workers.

* Spent the evening session taking part in a discussion on the strategy and vision of CP here.

* The children of the workers here are extremely bright kids - very smart, very intuitive.

* The reality of the dangers are very real here - this isn't for the weak at heart - these people are living on the edge!!

* Heard stories today that I can't share here on the blog for safety reason but let's just say they involve bomb threats, families fleeing towns for fear of their lives, and rocks crashing through window while you are preaching.

* These people are living on the bleeding edge of ministry.

Now you can see why I have been challenged, convicted, etc.... I feel so honored to be among some of what I would call, God's generals in advancing the work on the kingdom around the world.

Our team is having an amazing time, still dealing with jet lag but doing well over all. Please continue to pray for us as we serve and for the workers here.

Arrived in Turkey

It's Sunday evening in Turkey and Sunday afternoon in Fredericksburg. Just finished a great meal at the hotel where we are staying and spent time catching up with Nat and Abby. Some highlights from the day.

* 9 hour flight to Munich, Germany

* Slept some, finished reading Honor's Reward - awesome book.

* Picked up Jim Collin's new book - How the Mighty Fall.

* Actually enjoyed the food on the plane - this is a surprise because I am a picky eater.

* Had an hour lay over in Munich - very nice airport, one of our team members bought a $9 cup of coffee - not worth the price.

* 3 hour flight from Munich to Ankara, Turkey.

* Got to reconnect with our workers here, awesome people, huge heart for Jesus and the people for Turkey!!

* Missed the Lifepoint family today but heard Jeremy did an amazing job. I am blessed to have the greatest team on the planet!!

* Miss my family - this is the longest period of time I have ever spent away from Owen and Faith.

* Looking forward to an awesome week of serving the workers here!

I AM ALIVE!!

I know it's about time that I blogged, however, I have been preoccupied for the past few weeks. Lot's has taken place which I will blog about over the next few weeks. For now though I'm enjoying our new little addition, Faith Elaine Floyd, she is amazing!! 

Today, I leave for Turkey for a little over a week. Our team will be working with some church planters over there - expecting great things!!!

I will try my best to blog depending on the availability of WIFI.

Favorite New App

I have been looking for an easy way to capture ideas, quotes, series concepts, etc - because I was finding by the time sat down to write my thoughts, I had forgotten some things. In searching for something to meet that need. I discovered evernote (evernote.com - can't hyperlink from typepad app on my iPhone) it allows me to capture text, photos, and voice - the best part is, it will sync with my desktop and stire it on the web for easy access. It allows me to accomplish what I want to without carrying around an additional notebook or voice recorder - it's all on my phone!
