MONDAY REFLECTIONS

Sitting in the hotel in Lynchburg typing this during commercials of the season finale of 24! Don't worry Jack will save the world!!w

* Great morning yesterday - we kicked off a new series called INTERSECTION: AT THE CORNER OF GOD AND LIFE.

* I'm teaching through some keys parts of Ecclesiastes - really enjoying studying and teaching this material.

* Love what the creative team is doing lately.

* Love seeing our processes and systems being tweaked and improved every week.

* The President's daughter is about to get the smack down (on 24)

* Our team is in Lynchburg for the Innovate Church Conference - looking forward to reconnecting with friends and making some new ones.

* God has been speaking to me A LOT lately about how Lifepoint is going to make a major, beyond our wildest dreams impact on Fredericksburg and beyond.

* Excited about my friend Ben Arment's new venture.

* Looking forward to hearing Perry Noble tomorrow night.

* Only 45 min of this season of 24 left - what will I do on Monday night now?

* Been thinking a lot lately about how the previous generation of pastors were heavily involved in the political arena and it seems like this generation is silent. Have we swung the pendulum to far by becoming silent therefore removing our voice from policy making. Just some thoughts in my head. 

* This summer is going to be huge for Lifepoint - some exciting initiatives that are going to get us outside the four walls of the church. (or school in our case)

* Got to see my little girl on ultrasound today - can't wait to see her. She will be here June 8th unless Tammie goes into labor before then!!

* I hate the edge network in lynchburg - thank you Jesus for 3G!!

* Had a great workout to night but also ate some great food today so I think it just cancelled out!

* Lord, use the innovate church conference to stretch me and change me tomorrow.

MONDAY REFLECTIONS

Good Monday morning!!!

* Great day yesterday - we baptized 17 in the rain!

* Since we meet in a high school, setting up the portable baptistery in the auditorium is not an option - so we have to set it up outside and send a video feed inside. It was a rainy, nasty day so our team got some tents and made it happen! 

* We had a husband baptize his wife yesterday - very special moment!!

* We concluded our HEADLINES series - as I left yesterday I wished I had made it a four or five week series - I really enjoyed teaching and studying for this one - But I would rather end on wanting more than wishing it was over!

* REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THIS COMING SUNDAY - YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS WHAT'S PLANNED FOR MOTHER'S DAY!!

* This morning was the beginning of our spot on B 101.5 - this is a Monday - Friday 60 sec positive/encouraging thought to start your day. It's called "The Morning Wake up Call w/ Pastor Daniel Floyd - spread the word!!

* Heard this great quote this weekend: "Emotions makes for a treacherous adviser" - how true this is. Don't let your emotions dictate your actions or reactions this week - filter them through God's word! Let us not be emotionally controlled but spirit controlled!!

* Kristen is down at DRIVE this weekend - jealous!!

* Love Monday's!! I know that sounds weird but I get to spend the day with the greatest staff around!!!

* My house is beginning to look more and more pink - my little girl will be here soon!!!

* I have begun teaching Owen verses. We have started with John 3:16 - he doesn't have it memorized yet but we are working on it. The Word of God has the power to make men wise unto salvation - I want both for Owen - wise and saved!!

* My family was in town this weekend - love seeing them. My Dad and Mom, Sister, Nephew, and my new little niece - she's very cute!!

* Love what God is doing at Lifepoint - don't like growing pains so much BUT THEY ARE WORTH IT!!!

* 124 baptized in the last 4 weeks - amazing!! Still praying for revival - we haven't seen it yet!!!

* Looking forward to a great week - any week walking with Jesus is a good week!!

MONDAY REFLECTIONS

* Strong day yesterday!! Not the greatest attendance but still a strong day!!

* The worship was great - love the song "victory"

* Kicked off our new series HEADLINES - talked about the rapture of the church. Didn't know if I would be able to make that topic relevant to everyday life but somehow it happened. 

* Had a 360 tour yesterday (our newcomer's event) love doing those - talking about our story and getting connected never gets old - I could do that every week!!

* House Party sign ups began yesterday - amazing response - spaces are filling up fast so if you want to get into a life group contact Joe quickly!!

* Flat tire on the trailer yesterday morning - out setup crew didn't miss a beat - that's because they are the best around!! (I know the karate kid song just went off in your head - your the best around, nothings ever gonna get you down....)

* Can't believe that our little girl will arrive in less than eight weeks - that is if she is like Owen who came a week early!

* 24 is on tonight - that's only the best show on TV!!

* Heading to Richmond tomorrow to talk church planting!

* Love what I get to do!!

EASTER SUNDAY RECAP

I know this is a little late but after church on Sunday I headed to NYC for a little down time!! Love the city!!

* Amazing, amazing, amazing morning!! 101 decision (salvations/recommitments) 

* To God be the Glory!!!

* Largest attended weekend in our history!

* Our Volunteers teams were unreal - as always!!

* Left the morning in awe of GOD!!

* 21 days of fasting and prayer for God to move and He answered big time!!

* Love this church - Love what I get to do every week - Love the people I get to do it with!!

* Spoke on Worship yesterday - really sensed God speaking to people!!

* More excited about this coming weekend than I am about Easter Sunday - I'm sure that will change this coming Monday!!

* ONE SERVICE this weekend @ 10:22 AM - you DO NOT want to be late!!

* Today begins week 2 of our 21 days of fasting!! So many incredible stories yesterday about how God is moving in the lives of our people as we lean in to God during this time!! Praying for the impossible to take place!!

* Easter is after this Sunday - where did the beginning of this year go?

* Going to LU this weekend to speak in ministry chapel - looking forward to spending time with the next generation of leaders that will turn this world upside down for Jesus!!

* Remodeling our bathroom and almost done - it's only taken two weeks!!

* Easter weekend - SAT 6:00 PM Worship & Communion Service | SUN 9:30 AM & 11:15 AM | Who are you bringing to one of our Easter worship experiences?

* Opening up more space for KIDSPOINT this Sunday - K5 is going to have more room and foyer is back!!

* Possibly going to NYC for a few days after Easter - love the city!!

* 24 is on tonight - love Mondays!!

* Our baby girl Faith Elaine Floyd will be here in about 2 1/2 months - this pregnancy has flown by!!!

MONDAY REFLECTIONS ON TUESDAY

* Kicked off a new series called Old Time Religion on Sunday - thanks to Elevation for the design work.

* God showed up - big time!! As Moses said "if you don't go with us we don't want to go"!!

* The set design was amazing - the best we have had yet!!

* I love our volunteers - the energy they bring every week is contagious!!

* Changed some things with security this week that's helping a lot - the shooting in Ill was a real wake up call for us and it should be for every church!

* Had 225 people sign up to join us for 21 days of fasting and prayer - can't wait to see what God does when that many people join together in agreement!!!

* The worship set was awesome - lov'in some of the Lifepoint worship the team is writing!!

* Duke is in the sweet 16!!

* Josh fell trying to focus one of the projectors and tore up his elbow - could be a slight fracture - he's in a sling right now! Church planting is an extreme sport - don't let anyone tell you different!! Also, sacrifice your body - it's a core value!!

* Jeremy turned 33 on Sunday - Happy B-Day Pickwell!!

* Some REALLY exciting possibilities in the wings - I will let you know if they come through!!

* Only ONE SERVICE on APRIL 5th @ 10:22 am - DON"T FORGET!! I promise you, you don't want to miss it and you don't want to be late!!!

MONDAY REFLECTIONS

* Incredible day yesterday!!

* Please explain how we went from snow one Sunday to 76 degress the next - Sunday was beautiful!!

* The production team did an incredible job - the new stage setup was awesome!

* We gave away Krispy Kreme to everyone in attendance - a little sugar to wake up for the hour we I of spleep :)

* Taught on my passion Sunday - the vision of Lifepoint, which is reaching people far from God!! Never gets old!!

* Our volunteers are amazing - their pursuit of excellence in every area is incredible!

* Looking forward to taking a group down to Unleash.

* Can't wait to spend some time with some of our amazing volunteers - 8 hour road trip - here we come!!

* Went to see my niece in NC after church. Check out the post below for a pic - isn't she adorable!!

* All day staff meeting tomorrow - looking forward to it - I love these meetings because we get to spend less time on the immediate and more time on the future. Working in the ministry! If you don't intentionally schedule these times they will never happen.

* Marathon training is kicking my tail!!

* Our little girl will be here in June - this pregnancy has flown by!!

* Thank you Lord for allowing me to serve your church - amazing!!!

MONDAY REFLECTIONS

* Great morning at LC!

* We had Chip Stallings and his team in this weekend - love having the opportunity to invest in other church planters.

* Spoke on "Fighting Fair"!

* Slammed first service and light second service - still haven't figured that one out. Last week it was just the opposite.

* Heading down to Catalyst One Day this week. Looking forward to connecting with some friends.

* Ran 5 miles on Saturday and it felt good!!

* Tammie led worship this weekend and did an awesome job!!

* Really enjoying this series - check out the podcast if you missed a Sunday.

* SO looking forward to Easter weekend - this Easter is going to be HUGE for LC!!

* Tammie and I have decided on a name for our little girl who will be here in June :)

* Got cubicles in the office - they look great and they create a much better work environment!

* 24 is on tonight - can't wait for some JACK!!

* What I believe God has for our future is unreal!! I fee like we are on the verge of going to a whole new level of effectiveness and impact on this community!!

* Not really happy with my Duke Blue Devils so far this year - but still a huge fan!!

* Taking a bus load down to UNLEASH in March - if you haven't signed up yet do it quickly - spaces are going fast!!

MONDAY REFLECTIONS ON TUESDAY

* Incredible weekend at Lifepoint!

* Ended our Game Time series challenging people to use another currency they have, their gifts and talents, to advance the vision of reaching people far from God.

* We had A TON of people sign up to serve - amazing!!

* Our staff and volunteers did an amazing job making it simple for people to connect!

* There was a huge buzz Sunday morning about our Give Back Project!

* Great article in the Free Lance Star on Saturday!

* Training for the marathon is going great!

* We are in a season of huge momentum and increased commitment to what God has called us to do in this community. 

* Our new KIDSPOINT Director is in the office today, excited to welcome Steven Latham to the team. Steven has been serving as our Student Ministry Director in a volunteer capacity and is now transitioning to this new role. Exciting times!!

*Steven is a great example of hiring from within. It just makes sense, if they are the right person, to hire someone that has already shown commitment to the vision without making a dime!!

* I am an uncle again - my sister and brother-in-law have adopted a little girl - she was born yesterday!! 

* Asking God to answer some very specific request right now that will have huge impact on my effectiveness long term.

* Probably the best Super Bowl I have seen - amazing game - still wish the Cardinal's had pulled it out in the end.

* I think Kurt Warner choked when the pressure was on!

* Can't wait to start our new series this weekend! More to come tomorrow!

* Thankful for all that God's doing - just need to remind myself that we are blessed and it's God building this church - nothing more and nothing less!!

MONDAY REFLECTIONS

Where do I start? 

* Unbelievable morning at Lifepoint - one of those Sunday's I will never forget!!

* This month we have been teaching on finances - specifically creating margin so that we can be generous people - radically generous.

* This morning we put radical generosity into practice by giving away $12,000. Everyone walked out with an envelope which contained either $10, $20, $100, $500, or $1000 - there were three ground rules (1) You can't give it to Lifepoint (2) You must bless someone and (3) You have to tell us what you did with the money at Lifepointgivesback.org

* I don't think anyone expected what happen today - we are serious about RADICAL GENEROSITY - this is just the beginning!! 2009 is the year of generosity!!

* When so many ministries are cutting back and playing defense we have decided to do on the offense and GIVE BIG!

* It was amazing to hear people in the lobby talking about what they were going to do with the money.

* Hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds (get the point) of people in this community are going to be blessed - WOW!!!

* Love our people!!

* Love our volunteers!!

* Love our staff!!

* Got to hang out with Owen tonight - he is so much fun!!

* Watched a little bit of Newspring's web campus - incredible - of course you expect any less!!

* It's still setting in that a little girl while enter my life in June - Floyd baby #2 - wow!!

* My sister and brother-in-law are adopting a little girl which should arrive this week - amazing God story!!

* This is going to be a busy week - looking forward to getting a ton accomplished!!

* Chris Rohdy is coming down tomorrow for lunch - looking forward to spending some time together!!
