Tammie and I went away for the weekend and spent some time with friends and relaxing. Here are the highlights.
* Tammie's long time college friend got married - congrats Amy and Derek!!
* We got to hangout with a ton of friends from our LU days.
* Owen stayed with my Mom for the weekend - she loved it and he got spoiled even more (is that possible?)
* Attended TRBC on Sunday - Jonathan said "a year ago when his father died people were writing the eulogy for that church", they were definitely wrong! They are going after it hard. During my time at LU I never saw the excitement and passion that is there now. God is doing a fresh thing.
* It was weird going to church with nothing to do. Even if God had not called me to the role of preaching - I still couldn't go to church and just attend. I would have to get involved in some way. How do people do that? Come, sit, and leave without ever getting involved? Maybe we have made it to difficult to get connected in the modern church?
* Enjoyed setting through an entire service with Tammie, that's nice about once a year. Other than that let me preach!!!
* Great food - all weekend!!
* Got to reconnect with Jua Robinson. He and his wife Regina are friends from LU and are planting Heart Change Fellowship in Boston, MA. Great couple - no doubt God is going to build a great church through them.
* I heard that Josh brought it on Sunday. He preached while I was out of town.
* I heard the worship was tight!
* I also saw some pictures of the set design - very nice!!
* It's so refreshing to know that I can leave town and everything runs so smoothly - maybe I should go out of town more often :)
* Started podcasting T.D. Jakes this past week. Why didn't I find this sooner? What an amazing communicator!
* Looking forward to WIBO this Thursday. If you can't make it you need to check out this!
* Loving the song "Louder than Creation" by Todd Fields
* I got to be honest I don't yet get twitter - who would want to know what I'm doing all the time? But check back in a month and I will probably be twittering (is that correct?)
* We are moving to Chancellor High School on June 8th - so pumped about this!! The auditorium will allow us to seat up to 832 people!!
* I love what I do and I love the Lifepoint family!!
This past Monday and Tuesday we got to spend some time at Chancellor High School, which will be our new location for weekend worship experiences. It is going to be incredible - the space is amazing and our capacity to reach Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania is going to be increased. "The larger the capacity the greater the opportunity"!
JOIN THE COUNTDOWN!!
Yesterday I was thrilled to announce to our church that we would soon be moving locations. This past Friday I got the call that we have been approved to move into Chancellor High School which has an auditorium which will seat almost 900 adults. I am so pumped.
A little over a month ago we ask our church to pray and seek God's face to open this door. What an awesome answer to prayer. I know this is going to take us to a whole new level in our ability to reach people who are far from God.
To God be the Glory!!
I don't have the words to adequately describe what took place this morning. Let's just say we will look back and this will be a history making day for the Lifepoint family - I will post the details later.
On the road to DRIVE so I'm blogging from the iPhone - takes to long!
Kristen our fantabulous Production Director made the communion video - you go sista!!
About three months ago I began praying about some changes that needed to take place in terms of our staff. So, without going into to much detail here are the changes.
Jeremy, who served as our Worship Pastor and Creative Director, stepped out of the Creative Director role and took on the Administrative Pastor role while remaining our Worship Pastor.
Josh Lazar, who was our Family Pastor, moved into the role of Creative Director and also the Downtown Campus Pastor.
And we brought on the team an amazing volunteer from our KIDSPOINT area to be the KIDSPOINT Director. His name is Ben Weiss, you can learn more about him here.
We are already seeing great results from this move and couldn't be more excited about the people that God has brought to this team.
We moved into our new office space yesterday - it's heavenly!! I got everything unpacked and ready to go because I can't work in an office that's not put together. However, this morning I have been working from my home - why you might ask? Because Comcast has not yet hooked up our internet. So, no email, internet, etc.. It's sad that I have become so dependent on the internet - but there is hope...I have an iPhone and Jeremy has been on Comcast back to get us connected.
Pic's and video to come!!
